This Policy explains how ChessVS, Inc. ("ChessVS," "we," "us," "our") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use the ChessVS service (the "Service"), including chessvs.club, the game application, and related services. By using the Service you consent to these practices; if you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
For technical record-keeping, the Service creates an embedded wallet identifier for your account (via our provider, Privy — we receive the identifier, never private keys) and may write certain gameplay records to a public test network (blockchain). Such records are public and permanent by the nature of that infrastructure and cannot be deleted or modified after publication. They are keyed by wallet identifier, not by your email or name. This affects certain data rights — see Sections 5 and 6.
We do not sell your personal information. We may share it with: service providers (payment processing, hosting, analytics, support, email delivery, and the embedded-wallet provider) under contract to use it only to provide their services; legal authorities when required by law; business transferees in a merger or sale of assets (under continued protection); and other users only as you choose (your username and gameplay records are visible to opponents and per your profile settings).
Access, correction, deletion. You can update most information in account settings, and may request a copy or deletion at support@chessvs.club; we respond to verified requests within 30 days, subject to legal exceptions. Marketing. Opt out anytime via the unsubscribe link or account preferences (service/billing/security messages are not subject to opt-out). Cookies. Manage via your browser. Account closure. You may close your account anytime; we delete or anonymize your off-chain personal information within a reasonable timeframe except records we must retain by law.
Public test-network records are not affected by account closure. Records written to a public blockchain exist on infrastructure we do not control and cannot be deleted. Closing your account ends your access and removes your off-chain data, but on-chain records persist publicly, keyed by wallet identifier. To limit linkability to your real identity, avoid publicly associating your wallet identifier with personal information.
EEA / UK / Switzerland (GDPR). You have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability, objection, withdrawal of consent, and to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. Our legal bases include contract performance, legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention, improvement), consent, and legal obligations. California (CCPA/CPRA). You have rights to know, delete, correct, and opt out of "sale"/"sharing" (we do not sell); we will not discriminate for exercising them.
Limitation for public test-network data. Erasure and rectification cannot be technically fulfilled for records published to a public blockchain — the infrastructure permits no party, including us, to delete or modify them. Your rights continue to apply fully to all off-chain data we hold.
We use cookies for authentication, preferences, and analytics. We retain personal information only as long as needed for the purposes above or as required by law. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, though no method is perfectly secure. The Service is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.
We may update this Policy; material changes will be communicated with reasonable notice. Contact: support@chessvs.club.
